NEW DELHI, Feb. 27 (Xinhua) -- India's National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at 11 locations Wednesday as part of its probe into a deadly suicide attack on paramilitary convoy in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, officials said.

The NIA teams conducted raids in Pulwama and Anantnag districts, south of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir.

"NIA has made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) convoy on Feb. 14. The NIA investigators with the support of forensic and automobile experts have been able to identify the vehicle used for the blast," an NIA official said.

"A raid was conducted by NIA team at the car owner's house with the help of police. However, he was not found present in his house and thereafter has been evading arrest since then. He has reportedly now joined Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM)."

On Feb. 14, at least 40 paramilitary troopers belonging to CRPF were killed in a suicide car bomb attack on their convoy in Pulwama district.

The JeM claimed responsibility of the deadly attack.
