KAMPALA, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- Somalia coach Yusuf Ali Nur is optimistic of getting a good result when they host Guinea in a FIFA World Cup qualifying match on September 5 in Kampala.

Somalia Football Federation (SFF) opted to host their Group G match at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala because they have no FIFA or CAF approved Stadium in Mogadishu.

"We have been training well in Kampala since the team arrived here a few days ago. We have only managed to pick one draw out of six matches played and we are determined to get a good result against Guinea who we shall be hosting," Nur told Xinhua on Wednesday.

In their last match against Guinea played in March in Cote d'Ivoire, Somalia tied Guinea 0-0. "We know what to expect facing the Guinea team because we already faced them this year. We are determined to try and get maximum points against them," added the coach.

Somalia, who is bottom of Group G, will also prepare to face hosts Uganda in another Group G match on September 9 at the same stadium.

After six matches played by each team, Algeria leads Group G with 15 points, while second placed Mozambique has accumulated 12 points. Botswana and Uganda have 9 points. Guinea and Somalia are in fifth and sixth place respectively.

Africa is allocated a total of nine slots in the final tournament and one inter-confederation play-off slot for the FIFA World Cup 2026 to be held in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
